For our first reading group session we thought we would begin with Kristie Dotson's 'How is this Paper philosophy?' in order to jump start discussion of what we are trying to do by discussing the experience of minority groups and the structural issues they face...

The MAP Bristol group is returning this year! We'll be hosting a series of alternating reading groups and film nights to enable discussion about how philosophy can help to analyse and address social problems, and foster a space for marginalised people within the discipline. All are welcome to attend, from undergraduate through to faculty - we aim to create a collaborative and supportive social and academic environment no matter what your familiarity with or personal relationship to the subject matter. Meetings will alternate between reading groups at 4pm Wednesdays in room G16 in Cotham House, and film screenings at 7pm Wednesdays in the PGR Hub in Senate House.
